Great game you have here! Did you make the graphics in Flash / Animate CC? The graphics are adorable - love the derpy ducks. I like the music and SFX. The puzzles are intelligent and fun to engage with. I second the opinion of movement speed. Perhaps if you continue this game forward, you could give them a sprint option to solve that? I'd love to see some sweaty running ducks in this style of yours!

I noticed that with objects in the game, the sense of depth is kind of lost? Such as when pushing blocks down, the duck is on top of the crate -- which should be on top of the duck. This is actually super simple to solve in Construct. Make an Overlap family of these objects (ducks, turrets, crates, etc). Then on Every Tick go through the family in ascending Y coord. With the event of 'Move to top of layer'. :-)

Butzbo responds:

Yep, all of them done with Flash, also, I see a lot of things to improve, I'm taking the last hours of the Construct Beta to adress some of those, hahah! (speed and layering in particular), sprint would be helpful too, specially when you are traveling without obstacles in sight.
Thanks for the comments!

Gameplay is challenging, the graphics are serviceable. Music is a bit grating. You mentioned fullscreen in a response to another review, but I can't figure out how to go fullscreen? Pressing F does nothing, you got no in-game button and your command list doesn't state a key.

Plus a fun lil thing I noticed: On the start menu, if press the throttle button, you can hear the ship - if you hold it down, you can hear it flying, then eventually crash and all goes silent.

ricardoguedes21 responds:

Thanks for the comments I will make changes.

Great aesthetic, nice music, decent sfx. The gameplay is an interesting twist on the old Reanimator game; fits very well with the jam's theme. Though I got to say, I did *not* care for any of the dialogue. Just skipped it all.

... Was this game made in Construct 2? The loading screen said C2, but this is a C3 GameJam.

TomaCutcheon responds:

I changed the loader style for "Progress bar & logo" in the project properties. The C2 logo is by default, we'll change it anytime soon.

The gameplay is a prototype, we focused more on the aesthetics / sound design / story to begin with, it seemed more important to us.

We're glad you tried our game and wish you good luck for your future projects o/

Why is this game so massive? No fullscreen option? It is a pretty hard game. Lack of music is a shame.

MartDSam responds:

Sorry, but it's a game for the C3 game jam. I did not have much time to perfect. In time I'll try to make it better. Thanks for the feedbak.

I love the graphics, the music is good. The gameplay might be amazing? I don't know, I feel like I'm missing something - you can only change character when you touch? Then how do you advance? You can't jump when you're stacked.

CrounchyBrothers responds:

When you are splitted in three a "mini" character can jump on an other and give him control and so you can move two characters at once... jump again to control the one on the top.

Nice game, fun idea. Though the buttons were a tad sensitive - a cooldown on them would help a bit, to avoid accidental presses that toggle it again. Shame about the lack of music though, plus the tiles not having a uniform facing bugged me.

Jau-Al responds:

Thank,
About the buttons, I made them progressive but maybe not enough. My touch control is probably better. I will think about it again for the mobile game.
I didn't have enough time to make gamek logic, levels, basic graphics, sound effects AND some music ! It's a two weeks jam ! I'm not The Fash (or F. Smoak lol) :-)
Sorry about the time faces. I should have used the "final" one even without the lighting effects (lack of time again). I chose to fake the lighting but it was a really bad idea lol.

Neat little game you got here! The graphics are adorable and the gameplay is fun. Wish I had keybinds however, as it was a lot of looking back and forth which wasn't so nice due tot he fast pace of the later levels. My high score was 1488! :)

Mataguiris responds:

You can play with the keyboard, use the arrows to launch the heroes, and space for magic, is explained in the game information;)

Its a nice simple little game, though I would've like more UI implemented to keep me up to speed which caster was which colour and what there button was. Perhaps if the buttons were based on their current position in the line instead? It seems the colours don't match up with the colours that each caster destroys? This would have helped due to being intuitive. :)

Strokop responds:

Oh. Yeah sorry about that. I didnt knew how to explain the rules in game. So instead i just added that small description. Still knewing that it would be confusing. I'll try to make a layaout where the rules are explained a bit more clearly.

Fun lil game you got the start of here! Though I weren't a fan of the sound direction. Perhaps some sound options would be handy. :)

mekonbekon responds:

What, you're not impressed by my dulcet tones?! My mother says I have the voice of a scat-singing angel! You're right though, I should have at least added an audio toggle, thought about it after submitting, but hey ho. Glad you like the rest of it though, cheers :-)

Update: audio toggle added! Also a few other tweaks, such as a skip button for the story.

You got the beginning of an amazing game here! I'm just a bit sad that I cannot go fullscreen? You may want to continue developing this game after the gamejam, perhaps give the blocks some different graphics and such. (Perhaps like rocks?)

PronomicalArtist responds:

Thank you, yeah theres a lot I would have done, but as you can probably see there was a lot of graphical work done in a short amount of time. Glad you enjoyed it.
